Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is a quick and easy method for improving the appearance of one’s teeth. The process involves using tooth-colored resin to restore the function and appearance of teeth that are damaged or decayed.

Composite bonding has many applications, including:

  • Filling cavities
  • Repairing teeth
  • Restoring color
  • Closing uneven spaces
  • Correcting uneven tooth heights
  • Fixing misshapen teeth
  • Protecting tooth roots

In most cases, composite bonding treatment can be completed in just one visit to our clinic. The first step involves cleaning the tooth and determining the specific shade of resin that will be used. Any deterioration or decay that is present within the tooth will be removed. Once the tooth is cleaned, composite material will be applied to the tooth in multiple layers. Using a special dental curing light, each layer will be individually hardened. At this point, the tooth will be buffed and polished so that it has a nice, even finish and a natural appearance. If cared for properly, the bonding should last anywhere from five to ten years.
